PRAYER REQUEST!!!

I received this email (prayer request) from a friend.  Please pray!

Hi Prayer Warrior friends,

If anyone has it in their hearts to say some extra prayers for a stranger, a
friend of mine's niece in New Orleans needs a huge miracle or a great deal 
of grace to carry an enormous cross. She has triplets who are about a year 
old. She found out she is pregnant with another child. Last night the 
triplets were crying and her husband went to get them. He was carrying all 
three, tripped down some steps and fell. He did so in a way to save the 
babies from injury but injured his leg in a severe way. He was taken to a 
hospital where he was operated on and some complications occurred with his 
heart. He is now on life support and not expected to live for more than a
short time

  He needs some kind of miracle. He is a chef in New Orleans and not of
great means. I know Our Lord with look mercifully upon any prayers you can offer.

Prayer Request

Greetings my brothers and sisters from Liberty University!

I am writing because I have a few prayer requests.

It seems as if this week (Holy Week) is going to be very tough for the Catholic Church here at Liberty. I have already found it very hostile here and getting worse. For example, today in one of my Bible classes, the prof. along with students were making fun of the Catholic Church for believing Mary is a Perpetual Virgin. And they wouldn't give me a chance to answer. Now this is not uncommon, in fact, it is very common here. But I am asking you to please pray for the students and faculty here, especially on Holy Thursday. Every time I miss class, I am told that it becomes anti-Catholic day (from my friends who are in the class). This Thursday I am missing my classes to go home for Easter. So please pray for them!

Second, pray for the Catholics here at Liberty and the Catholic group here on campus. Although I am about to graduate, I know that there is still one more thing I must do for the group before I leave. I can't say what this thing is because it is a surprise, but I need to do it. It will only work however, with your prayers! And please ask for the intercessions of Dr. Jerry Falwell (I know he used to be a Baptist, but he is either in Purgatory (RCIA) or Heaven and is Catholic :)

And finally, please keep me in your prayers as I am trying to figure out what I am supposed to be doing after graduation. And also keep all of the seniors from EWC in your prayers, as we are all prob. in the same boat.

Thank you so much for the prayers! And if you ever need prayers, forward them on to me! I have a great prayer team that would be more than happy to take them on!

Holy Spirit Prayer Group

Tonight was an amazing night! I went to the Holy Spirit prayer group at St. Thomas More, and something happened that I have never seen before.

We were in the middle of praying for our good friend Brian, and all of a sudden I heard a noise by the door. With my eyes still shut, I turn my head so that it was facing the door, and I could see a figure standing there. I opened my eyes and nothing was there, then I shut my eyes and I saw an angel.

It was a tall male figure (had to be just under 7 feet tall), dressed in white (with battle attire on). His shoulders where very broad (almost like a football player). He stood strong and just looked straight a head with a spear in his hand. He didn't say anything, but the #7 kept coming to my mind.

Then as soon as we started to pray the "Our Father" he just disappeared through the door.

Before he appeared, I really felt the Holy Spirit come upon me, and as soon as he left, it was as if the Holy Spirit left too. But every time I picture him, the Spirit returns!

Lent Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, we ask that you grace us with his patience and his persistence this Lenten season.

Prayer for Lent #4

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your goodness and glory in our lives. As we travel through this journey of Lent, allow us to use our knowledge and wisdom to listen to Your words. Help guide our actions and help us to remember the ways You taught the one's who have taught us. May we follow in Your footsteps to the ways You have set before us, and to help teach others about Your wisdom and love. Let us keep Your commandments in mind and allow us to act according to the person You made us to be. We ask this in Your name.

St. Patrick Prayer for Lent

St. Patrick's Prayer

I bind to myself this day the power of God to guide me, the might of God to uphold me, the wisdom of God to teach me, the eye of God to watch over me, the ear of God to hear me, the word of God to give me speech, the hand of God to protect me, the shield of God to shelter me, the host of God to defend me against evil, against the lust of nature, against every person who meditates injury to me, whether far or near, whether alone or with many.

I have invoked all these virtues against every hostile, savage power warring upon my body and soul, against the evil laws of paganism, against the false laws of heresy, against the false promises of idolatry and against all knowledge which blinds the soul of humanity.

Hospital Ministry

On Friday afternoon, I went to the hospital with Fr. Ron and shadowed him with hospital ministry. I will say that it was quite the experience.

I had just a small glimpse of the different types of emotions a priest can go through in a day.

We visited a number of different people (some in for surgery and others who will be dying).

All of the visits went well today, but out of all of them, there were two that stood out to me.

1. There is a lady who will not make it past tomorrow, she will be taken off of life-support. This visit was very hard for me because I have never been in this situation. It was sad, but at the same time really cool to know that the Church is there for you in your last hours of life.

2. The last person we visited was in the emergency room and I did not hear what was wrong with her, but the reason why this stuck out to me was because when we started to pray the "Our Father" the lady along with her daughters started to cry. It was very moving, and once again, very cool to know that the Church and the Sacraments are there for her people!

It was really hard for me to wittiness throughout the day, but I am really glad I went. It showed me a different side of the ministry that I haven't seen yet.

Please pray for all of the sick and for the people who will leave this world today.

Prayer for Lent #2

Let us not only pray this prayer, but live it out throughout this wonderful season of Lent:

Let us Pray:

Lord Jesus, teach us how to pray. Help us to be agents of bringing about your will in our world, and to be open to recognizing your unexpected actions in our lives and world. Help us to learn not to stockpile yesterday's stale bread, but to rely on the strength you give us each day. Help us to dig deep into our hearts to find forgiveness for those who have hurt us, and to feel the weight of nursed grudges and indulgent self-pity lifted from us. We acknowledge that the kingdom, the power and the glory truly are yours, now and forever. Amen.

What to do during Lent

How can we relate the Lord's prayer to our journey through Lent?

"Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespassesas we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen."

Well, first we praise Him for who He is and what He has done!

Then we ask for His will to be done to us during this season of Lent.

Next, we ask for our daily bread (what we need to survive through this time of prayer and fasting). Also, for the things we need to get through our time of giving up or sacrificing something we love during this season of Lent.

Ah, one of my favorites, "forgive us" well we should all know that this means we should go to confession and also forgive others who we haven't yet forgave.

And finally, we ask for the protection of God. We ask that He help us through our temptations, during this time (like Christ was in the desert for 40 days).

If we follow this prayer throughout Lent and live it all throughout this season, then we will truly be prepared for Easter and the celebration of Christ's Resurrection!!!

A slap in the face from Jesus

On Friday night I went to Adoration (for the first time in a while). And as always it was great! Although this time, I got what I needed. A slap in the face from Jesus.

As I was praying the Rosary and looking right into the Eucharist, it was as if Jesus came right out of the Monstrance and knocked some since into me. Who am I to think that I can do the plans I HAD?

I had the plans to get married and work in a church after graduation, but when I have tried following through with them, I was miserable. But when I go through the application process for the priesthood, the feeling is AMAZING! It was as if Jesus Himself, came down and chastised me for a few minutes in a loving way.

And right at the end of the holy hour, I heard Him say, "I have chosen you for a reason."

And now I have been asking myself, "Why would you choose me? I am so undeserving, and a nobody."

I am scared to death and ask for your prayers!

Update on prayer request!!!

Thank you all for the prayers!

Please keep praying for this girl who is wanting the abortion.

There really isn't much update from Cody, but we are still praying! I do want to thank you all for your prayers and support!

We have found out that she is still with her boyfriend and that her parent's don't know yet.

There are a number of you that through your connections have helped out tremendously! There are 2 families that are looking to adopt and are interested in this child!!!

We also have a number of people who have offered for her to stay with them and help her until the child is born!

A few counselors from Crisis Pregnancy Centers from all over the country are ready to talk with Cody and her about this.

And a number of people that have gone through abortion are ready to share their story with her.

Please keep praying! God is working here!!!

URGENT PRAYER (17 year old wants an abortion)

My friend Cody from back home just sent me a message saying that his friend is wanting to have an abortion. He is trying to help her through it, but the only alternative he knows to offer her is adoption.

Trish is two weeks away from turning 18 and she is two months pregnant. If you could send me any resources to send Cody, so that he can share them with her and help her through this. It would be greatly appreciated!!!

Prayer Requests!!!

I have some prayer requests that I have promised to send out, but haven't had the chance:

1. There is a Baptist Pastor in VA (I cannot give his name or location due to privacy) who was a convert to the Catholic faith (some time ago), then left the church and is now a Baptist Pastor who wishes to come back home to the Catholic Church!!!

2. There is a Liberty Alumni in IL who is a Youth Minister and is really struggling with his faith and considering leaving his church to become Catholic (he just started on this journey)!!!

3. There is a Liberty student that I am speaking with that said he has converted to the Catholic Church and is just waiting on being confirmed!!!

4. The Ignite Your Torch Youth Conference! All of you already know about it, but pray for finances and for youth to sign up. Also, please pray for the old chapel on site so that we can use it for mass (instead of an ugly purple gym)!!!

5. The Catholics at Liberty. This is going to be one of the greatest semesters we have seen yet, but it will only happen with prayer!!!

Hope all is going well with everyone! And great things are going to happen this semester!!!

Prayer Requests!

Hey everyone!

I don't think I have ever sent out this many updates in such a short amount of time! This little update has both good news and a very important prayer request in it.

We will start with the good news! Yesterday was the BIGGEST crowd yet from LU to go to mass! Usually, we have about five Catholics from LU that go to mass. Yesterday, we all met at St. Thomas More and we had at least NINE students go to mass! It was GREAT!!! God is really working! We are hoping to get even more next week!

Now for the prayer request: I sent out just before this email a prayer request from Josh and the foreign exchange student staying with his parents. For those of you who didn't get that email, her name is Nico Leons, and she is from Germany. She is Catholic, and is now going to a Evangelical School, and has already fallen in love with the Evangelical Youth groups.

Another prayer request comes from me: There is a student here at LU and she is a freshman. She is Catholic, but is starting to stray away from the Church. She says that she will not leave the Catholic Church, but I can already tell (along with some of the other Catholic students) that her heart has already left the Church. She did go to mass with us yesterday and absolutely LOVED IT! She said that she really enjoyed how Fr. Mooney celebrated the mass, and that she can't wait to go back! But, she is still slowly drifting away. I have spent many hours with her over the past week, and have talked to her about some issues in the church. I know that college is where people start drifting away from their parents and try to figure things out on their own. So we will see what happens.

Power of Prayer!!!

This past Monday and Tuesday I flew down to be on the Journey Home with Marcus Grodi on EWTN. I almost didn't make it due to plane delays. Here is the story:

On Sunday night I was laying in bed and praying to God to make this trip to EWTN to be all about Him and nothing about me. I wanted to make sure that Christ got all of the credit and none of it about myself.

Well, needless to say, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PRAY FOR!!!

On Monday morning, I was supposed to catch my flight from Dayton, OH to Cincinnati, OH at 11:50. Well, our plane was delayed due to a tire bursting. We tried to get on any other flight with any other airline to Birmingham, AL for the Journey Home on EWTN. There was NOTHING available that could get us there in time. So we stayed on our flight to Cincinnati.

When we arrived in Cincinnati, we ran to try to catch our next flight. We missed it by 10 minutes (we later find out that it was the same flight that Marcus Grodi was going to be on). Well, after we missed it, we then went on stand by for the next flight leaving Cincinnati for Birmingham. It was to take off at 4:45 (eastern time) and arrive at 5:10 (central time).

During the entire morning I was sure that my dad and I were going to make it. But by about 3:30, I was starting to get very upset and didn't think either one of us were going to make it. My dad on the other hand said, "Don't worry, you are going to get there."

I believe it was also around 2 or 3 pm that I called Theo to tell her to get everyone she knows to pray for me to make the flight!

As I have mentioned before, I was on stand by. There were 5 people ahead of me to get on this flight. They were overbooked by 3 people, and there were 2 stand by's ahead of me. About 4 pm, I go up to ask what are my chances of getting on the flight, and the lady said, there is no way possible that I will get on, none the less any other stand by.

After asking Delta, what my chances where of getting on, I went to the restroom. When I came back, there was a man in my seat sitting next to my dad. I was kind of upset since the entire row was empty, why would he sit right next to my dad?

Anyway, they end up talking for some time. All of a sudden it is 4:30 and the plane is getting ready to pull out anytime. They call the first stand by and it is the guy that is sitting next to my dad. Man was I mad!!! Well, he goes straight up to the counter and tells them that I am going to take his place! They call me up and he tells me that I am going to take his place on the plane and he will catch the next flight (He had a big business meeting the next day in AL).

So what is so important about this story besides the fact that I made it on time for the show? Well, at 4:30 is when my GREAT Aunt Mary went into the chapel at the convent by EWTN and had the nuns pray along with other people there for me to catch my flight. It was the SAME TIME I GOT ON MY FLIGHT!!! Talk about the power of prayer!!!

Now my GREAT Aunt has more to her side of the story so when she gets back from her trip, we will send that out to you all! But Doug, was the guy who gave me his seat on the plane I believe was Angel #1 and a lady that my aunt met in the chapel is Angel #2. She will tell you more about that!

You told the story well, Chris! My input comes when I walked out of the Chapel there at EWTN. (I was wearing my Dominican cross, on my Dominican shirt.) A total stranger - (named LISA, I later found out), was staring at me. She had an EXTRA friendly face, so we spoke. Lisa told me she had seen my face in a (dream) and was told she must pray for the intercession of Blessed Pier-Georgio Frassatti, a saintly Third Order Dominican who lived in the 1920's. She was to ask for the intercession of Bl. Pier-Georgio Frassatti, in the need of " this lady" (me?!). Right then, Chris was able to get on the only flight out of Cincinnati, which did get him to Birmingham ON TIME for THE JOURNEY HOME!!! So, we do indeed THANK GOD for ALL WHO PRAYED, including Bl. Pier-Georgio Frassatti!
